Make a new file at about 8″ x 8″ at 300ppi

2. You can probably chose any brush category but for your first signature brush I recommend the “Oils” category and then choose the “Flat Oils 40″ as your variant.

3.To the right of the variants click the little arrow and choose “Save Variant” and then give a name to your new brush. Why not name it My Signature.

4. Now click on the brush variant and scroll down to the bottom and you should see your new brush. Click on your new brush to select it.

5.Set your color to black and opacity to 100%. Now write your signature on the canvas. Keep writing your signature til you get it looking good.

6. Now choose the “Rectangle Selection” tool and then click and drag a square around your signature.

7. Go back to the little arrow to the left of the brush variant and click on it and then choose “Capture Dab” and you have now made your signature into a brush shape.

billige hoteller | hotell wien

Corel Painter and Pricing of digital art

Before you begin though, do a couple of pieces; see how long it takes to create something you can sell. Do one as a 16x20 and another as a 32x40. Your speed and quality will give you a hint of where you fit. Don't make the mistake of pricing it to low. This is not the arena to be giving your hard earned talent away.

A thing to remember is that wherever you start, it is just that, a start. You should have regular price increases to keep moving yourself up the scale. This approach will also insure you keep up with the learning of new and better techniques, both because you can afford to and because you'll need to.

There are a few overall things I noticed, all the artists had a minimum size, which most often was 16x20. Next, the base seemed never lower than an additional $1,000 on top of the price for your best product. The last thing was it is not cut and dried. The pricing reflects the complexity of the art piece, both in the medium, (which was typically oil or water color) and in the subject matter (number of people, detail rendered in background.)

sponsers:
gratis mac , gratis

Guide on Wacom Pen Tablet with Corel Painter

Have you done much with corel painter lately? Whats great about this pack of programs is that not only do designers get one program at a time; rather, a whole suite of the latest versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and GoLive software.

The Creative Suite is Adobe's attempt to bind the applications together. Now, Adobe's creative products use not only the same graphics engine but also the same type and color-management engines. Files that are created in one application can open easily in others with all their features intact. With a consistent user interface, moving from one application to another is easy.

And holding it all together is the new file-management and version-tracking technology Version Cue. The Version Cue lets you create and publish content for print and the Web faster, more easily, and more affordably. That's why Adobe is introducing this one whole package as "the complete design environment for print and Web publishing".

Adobe Photoshop for image editing- easily manage your images with the improved File Browser, quickly share design variations with Layer Comps, and instantly improve contrast with Shadow/Highlight correction; perform more precise editing and retouching with expanded support for 16-bit images and monitor changes to your image in the Histogram palette, which dynamically updates as you make adjustments.

Adobe Illustrator for drawing and vector graphics- with powerful new 3D features, advanced typographical controls, and a host of groundbreaking new design tools, this powerful upgrade from Illustrator 10 delivers the performance you need to make the most of your creativity; import Photoshop image compositions directly to Illustrator- or create drawings in Illustrator and import them directly into Photoshop; create native Adobe Portable Document Format files using settings and options consistent with Adobe Acrobat Distiller software and get fast, consistent print results with features like Fit to Page, Print Preview, and support for Print Settings.

Adobe InDesign for page layout and design, and Adobe GoLive for Web layout- import your native vector and bitmap artwork directly into InDesign CS software for sophisticated print layouts or into Adobe GoLive CS software for powerful web pages. With the support of Adobe PDF and XML, you can easily output your pages to both print and the Web.

The Corel Advantage…

With the introduction of Corel Painter IX, commercial designers, photographers, and professional artists are able to use their natural talents and techniques to create breathtaking works of art. Corel ensures that the new program is a must-have software for creative professionals, whether they're in film making, game development, commercial design, illustration, photography, or even fine arts.

With regards to performance and productivity, the Corel Painter IX boasts of significantly improved speed, new and enhanced Brush Control Palettes, Frames-per-Second Control, and Customizable Shortcut Keys. Professional users can extend their creative possibilities with new enhancements that include Artists' Oils Painting System, Snap-to-Path Painting, improved Digital Watercolor, and Quick Clone.

What is exciting about this new software is that the Corel Painter IX is more compatible with other professional technologies, providing enhanced support to Adobe Photoshop, Wacom (including the Wacom Intuos3), and Color Management.

What's more, getting started is easier than ever. Corel has provided various support guides to help end-users control their fear of tackling a seemingly intricate world of softwares and programs. Corel has provided a revitalized User Guide, the Painter IX Handbook that includes tutorials from leading creative professionals, access to free training videos, and academic courseware specifically designed for educators.

With powerful applications such as the Adobe CS and Corel, artists and designers alike can now combine both worlds of traditional art and sophisticated technology. The intricate tones of traditional art skills and techniques they've developed during their formation years as artists can be integrated with the incredible benefits that digital media can provide. Every creation can now be worthy of the exaltations and awe reserved for those found in galleries and exhibits. In addition, these art forms are now made at a faster and quicker rate than their original counterparts.

-----
finans

Top 5 Imaging Programs You Will Like

Imaging programs are basically tools for graphic designers, and in this article I will list 5 top Imaging programs I like and why. Whats great of these types of software’s is that even the non-professional people can make use of imaging programs to create the simplest designs for their projects.

Everyone who is into computer design for fun or for a living can appreciate how imaging programs can help make their tasks easier. With imaging programs, one can easily edit photos; create graphics, computer-aided designs and similar projects.

Image editors are among the most popular and commonly used imaging programs which help designers create images virtually from scratch. It offers various painting tools which are very much like the basic painting tools, albeit computer-based. This allows you to enhance photos and retouch them as well. Using this application will classify your saved photo or scanned image as a bitmap. Bitmap images are very convenient for retouching because you can get a lot of detail. However, you may have a problem with the image's pixel resolution.

Now for the list of 5 top imaging programs you can tinker with if you are like graphic design and computer-aided graphic projects like myself.

1. Corel Painter
This imaging program is now available both in Windows and Macintosh. Designers can make use of the program to create images that are natural-looking with its freehand feature. The user can also choose from several effects like oil paints and watercolor and print the output in canvas or paper.

2. Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo

This is an imaging program for bitmap graphics editing and vector graphics editing. Rights to the program were originally owned by Jasc Software of Minneapolis. The rights to distribute the program now belong to Corel Corporation after it purchased Jasc Software in 2004. The program, which is more popularly known as Paint Shop and as Adobe Photoshop's competitor, can be downloaded as shareware. Adobe Photoshop is more popular than this imaging program because the former has versions for Microsoft and Apple Macintosh.

3. Adobe Photoshop

This imaging program was developed by Adobe Systems and is considered a market favorite in terms of graphics editing, image manipulation and bitmap images. The newest version of Adobe is Photoshop CS3 Extended which was released only this year. This is the third version since Adobe renamed the Photoshop products. It boasts of new tools, non-destructive filters, 3D and scientific imaging.

4. Corel Photo-Paint

This imaging program is bundled with the Corel Draw Graphics Suite. It can create graphics and manipulate images. It also allows users to remove redeye in photos. The program can be downloaded from the website of Corel as a freeware.

5. Microsoft Paint

This imaging program used to be known as Paintbrush for Windows and can be found bundled with Microsoft Windows. Users can experiment with color mixtures as the program allows simultaneous picking up of three colors. There are a lot of functions which the user can practice to improve his craft.

Imaging programs are not that expensive (some are even available for free) especially if you think of the benefits one can get from the special effects that these programs offer. However, the choice of which imaging program is best for you depends on your requirements and projects.

Some More Corel Painter Tips and Tricks

I hope you have painted much fantastic artwork with Corel Painter lately, I have been too busy with other things myself these lasts weeks. Been on a business trip and such, so havent been painting at all I must admit.
Anyway, I stumbled across some good painter tutorials that I think are good for beginners to look at. Here they are:
Creating a Custom Workspace Palette in Corel Painter X

This is very important to do, if you want to become efficent, and make more art faster.

Sketching & Painting, by Stephanie Reese

Her you will need to download some small files, and unzip them using winzip, or windows vista if you have that (I sure do, and I cant complain).

You WILL need a wacom or an other tablet to create great art work. If youre a REAL beginner, dont fool yourself into thinking you can do without. Here is a tutorial for those using a wacom tablet. Better brushstrokes with the Enhanced Brush Ghost

Thats it for now, hope you had fun in April, now MAY is right around the corner ;)

Vintage Starwars

Getting to know Corel Painter X

If you are artistically inclined and would like to create breathtaking digital artworks, then the new Corel Painter X is a must-have software for you. This new version of the Painter series offers increased speed, stability, and performance and several new creative tools all suited for the digital artist in you.

Speed has always been a factor in selecting a graphic program and with that fact in mind, Corel Painter X has been endowed with brushes that can go up to ten times faster than version VIII. This is an important feature that all designers are sure to be grateful of.

A new Rotate/Flip command for the canvas has been added with customizable shortcut keys function that is sure to help speed up your work. An enhancement to the brush tracker feature is present called the "Iterative save.” This is comparable to Adobe Photoshop’s layer comp feature. Users can now use a "snap to path" painting tool that can really add some speed to drawing while using shapes, and paths.

There is new category of natural media brushes, called Artists' Oils, which act more like traditional oil paints enabling the digital artist create artworks in the manner that natural painters make theirs. With textured surfaces, brushes, and tools, you can mimic painting and drawing with chalk, pastels, watercolors, oils, crayons, pencil, felt pens, ink, and more.

The Digital Watercolor now features paint that remains "wet" between sessions enabling the artist to play with the brushes even after he has painted the strokes.

The inclusion of cloning tool called the Quick Clone helps in making the cloning process faster and simple. You will only have to click on the menu and you are now set make clones.

Version X has even included a total of 7 KPT filters namely Gel, Goo, LensFlare, Lightning, Pyramid Paint, Reaction, and ShapeShifter which are good effects that the artist can play with.

Painter has even gone to address compatibility issues with Adobe Photoshop enabling itself to open images in PSD format complete with layer masks, channels and layer sets maintained. It has also included support for Wacom Intuos3.

A few recommended Totally Free Digital Photography programs

Corel Painter will of course always be superior to any other digital painting software out there. The future of digital art, and some corel painter tips.

I originally wanted to write an article on the definition of digital art, and now I finally made myself write it. Digital art is art created with the help of a computer. This can be done in many different ways. A picture can be modelled in 3D and rendered, or art painted in the traditional sense with the aid of a tablet, or even a simple mouse (I really hope everyone reading this are sitting on a tablet though hehe). Pictures can also entirely be generated of the computer like with a program called “Apophysis”. This program can also help you with creativity in Corel Painter, if you are struggling on getting inspiration. It basically automatically creates shapes of colors with a click of a button. I have used it myself many times before painting pictures in corel painter.

With the computer's position in the life of all modern people, it has increasingly become more and more common to make digital art. 3D-graphics is conventionally used in many film productions. Digital photo editing has become standard in soon all said activities that process photographs. Vector graphic is standard for everyone logos and similar graphical design, and digital paintings occupy also an increasingly significant role in the society.

Digital request of pictures can be divided into three main categories. Pixel based graphic, Vector graphic and 3D-graphic.

Pixel based graphic builds on that the pictures are to be presented in a large number of pixel units, were all the pixels make up the picture with color information and everything. Most used software for pixel based graphic is of course Adobe Photoshop, but luckily Corel Painter has become a large competitor now.

Vector based graphic is that the images are made from mathematical calculations. This is a loss free kind of information, were the pictures can be peeled and translated without loss of information. That is why this type of technology is ideal for graphical design and logo creation. The most used software for this purpose is Adobe Illustrator.

3D-graphic builds on that the pictures are created as three-dimensional items that are stored with the aid of mathematical calculations. These pictures are usually made up from polygons or nurbs. Pretended light sources shine afterwards up on the objects you make, and the computer calculates how the items would be visible from someone’s obvious angle. 3D-graphic can today be done hugely realistic, and is used often within film and the compute game industry. I have played around with probably the most used graphic program of them all “3d studio max”, and I have to say it’s a lot of fun. I recommend everyone to at least try it once in your life. Very fun program but also extremely complicated and not for everyone. Remember it could be a cool idea to make something in a 3d program, and take it into a picture in corel painter and make something stunning!

Although the digital art already today is dominating within all practical applications: graphical design, commercial photo, film industry, gaming industry, and also illustration, it still hasn’t been fully accepted as adequate art form, in the traditional art world. This can to a large extent depend on inadequate understanding for the medium, common is the faith that it is the computer that do the entire job and that the creativity is undermined of the technology. The computer is however only a tool among others, brushes, carbons, clay. However I truly believe it’s only a matter of time, before it becomes a fully accepted art form around the world, from the group of people that today represents traditional art. Keep working on becoming a specialist on corel painter and you will become successful whatever your goals are.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://corel-painter.blogspot.com/2008/02/what-is-digital-art-future-of-digital.html' title='What is digital art? Wanted to get some inspiration for some new art work. Then I found this video, and it really got me exited about the RealBristle Brushes. It is so cool and flexible, you can really create some cool things with this. Real bristle brushes can give you some nice variations and effects, that mainly should be used for spreading paint over large areas. Like putting in the color of the ground, sea, or sky. So what are you waiting for, you should begin right away to experiment yourself with this great feature in corel painter! Who knows maybe it will become your favorite tool soon ;)

corel painter download - you wont be disappointed & corel painter gallery

Many people ask me why I use corel painter rather than Photoshop. I'm sure many other painter users gets asked this as well. I always answer short and simple to those people if they have tried corel painter, and sadly the answer is usually "no". Then i follow up with giving them a link to download it and try it out for themselves. I have always wondered why photoshop has become such a popular program, when corel painter exists. In my opinion photoshop should be used for photo editing, and not for painting, as it cant simulate real life brushes as well. The new version of corel painter is really a brilliant piece of software people, and is strongly recommended. Also I recommend going to the corel painter gallery, to get inspired by the possibilities that are within corel painter.

Showing you some good first steps in Corel Painter

This tutorial should maybe have been posted at an earlier stage. Its time to learn more about this amazing piece of software, that corel painter really is. This time we will take a look at some very interesting tools in the toolbox. If you are previously are familiar with photoshop, (And lets face it, most people think photoshop is the best program for digital painting. But we who have come to learn Corel Painter knows better. Personally I think Photoshop is the best program for photo editing, but NOT for painting ;)
you might wonder what those four squares beneath the "set foreground selector" are?
Well those are great effects that will might make any art more special. Ok, lets take a look at them shall we. I will try to explain this as easy as possible. This is NOT difficult at all I should add, this is definitely more for beginners, than experienced painter users.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KUTw-DgLFX0/RwE8w8XLxnI/AAAAAAAAACA/XKCwlcwNQ2c/s400/paperselector.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5116437463204349554" />

Now lets start out with how to apply these special papers and effects. The first as can be seen in the picture above is the paper selector. Probably one of the most used of them all, especially for artistic people like us. This feature works in the way that you can basically change paper that you are painting on. If you want to draw or paint on a rugged and rough type of paper now you can! Its really easy to apply too. There are two ways of using this tool. The first way can also be seen in the picture above. Here I have chosen a colored pencil to draw with. When I then click on the paper selector and choose one of the papers, my pencil lines will be affected by this. The default white paper dont change, but when you draw the pencil will react to the surface of the paper, as there was a different type of paper there!
This work this way only on some of the brushes in the brush category, like for example the colored pencil.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KUTw-DgLFX0/RwE-NcXLxpI/AAAAAAAAACQ/2HbCPexMtXw/s400/papeertexture.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5116439052342249106" />

The other way of using the paper selector is by changing the entire paper that you are drawing on. This can be done with first clicking on the paper selector symbol like before, and then click on the “effects -> apply surface texture” as the picture above indicates. Then more of the brushes in the brush category will be affected by the paper you have chosen.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KUTw-DgLFX0/RwE9fcXLxoI/AAAAAAAAACI/_Kk8-LrgtsM/s400/effectsbutton.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5116438262068266626" />

Next up we have some effects that are treated the same way, in the sense of how you apply them. Im talking ofcourse of the pattern selector, gradient selector, and the weave selector. Depending of which one of these you want to use, you start out by clicking on either of them, choose a type, and then go up to the effects tab clicking on fill (or the shortcut CTRL + /).

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KUTw-DgLFX0/RwE_DcXLxqI/AAAAAAAAACY/2t9QJU-C3Ek/s400/selectors.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5116439980055185058" />

Then you click on what you want to fill the entire white paper with, and then you have created something nice looking, by just clicking on a button or two.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_KUTw-DgLFX0/RwE_l8XLxrI/AAAAAAAAACg/UEak2wUCDys/s400/lookselector.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5116440572760671922" />

Finally we have the last two options in this section of the toolbox, and that is the look selector and the nozzle selector. Both are easy to use too. With the look selector you can just click on it, and choose an effect. Then you will have a very special type of brush effect, that you can begin drawing with right away.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_KUTw-DgLFX0/RwE_5cXLxsI/AAAAAAAAACo/LpG6tL-dylo/s400/imagehose.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5116440907768121026" />

In order to use the nozzle selector you will have to select it, and then go into the brush category and select image hose. What this tool does, is simply to make your brush an image spraying pencil, that you send out all kinds of images nicely organized into your paper. You will be amazed how well this works, and I bet you will be downloading lots of extra of these pictures to have in the image hose later. If you are more of a old school artists however, this tool wont be useful at all. There you have it folks. Thats the tutorial on the different papers and effects, if there are any questions, please be kind and leave me some comments.
<img width='1' height='1' Look at this image, it is very self
explained. But I can add that after you have done this, you should save up your new
costum made brush. So you can get it later on, if you want to use it again!
And also after you have pressed capture dab up in the right corner, you must
remove the marquee selection, or else you can only draw inside this selection. And that
is no good, since it is so very small ;)
Have fun doing this, I thought is was a cool little trick anyway, that maybe not all are
aware of. So its a good idea to try to have a good workflow, with the use of some shortcuts & hot keys wich I like to call them. The hot keys im about to give you, are those that I use most often in Corel Painter. And many of them can also be used in similar software like for instance Adobe Photoshop, so I will tell you if you can use the hotkeys in that program aswell. Where I dont mention Photoshop the hotkeys are different in that program, and I wont bother to say what it really is. Because you should focus on the best program of the two (painter ofcourse).
Lets get to it shall we, these are my favorite hotkeys:

1. CTRL + Z = UNDO (Same in Photoshop)
2. CTRL + Y = REDO
3. B = BRUSH TOOL (Same in Photoshop)
4. CTRL + F = FILL
5. E = ROTATE CANVAS
6. CTRL + / = USE LAST USED FILTER
7. ALT GR + ] = INCREASE BRUSH SIZE
8. ALT GR + [ = DECREASE BRUSH SIZE
9. SPACE + LEFT MOUSE CLICK AND DRAG = PANNING AROUND
10. CTRL + = ZOOM IN (Same in Photoshop)
11. CTRL - = ZOOM OUT (Same in Photoshop)
12 D = EYEDROPPER TOOL
13. T = TEXT TOOL ( Same in Photoshop)
14. CTRL + A = MARK ENTIRE CANVAS (Same in Photoshop)
15. CTRL + C = COPY MARKED SELECTION (Same in Photoshop)
16. CTRL + V = PASTE SELECTION (Same in Photoshop)

There you have it folks, my most used hotkeys. I know there are plenty more that is probably useful, but anyway those are the hotkeys im using.

Free download of a superb set of Brushes to Corel Painter IX or older versions

One of the first things you should do if you havent done so already, is to find out what types of brushes you like. This is important, because there are so many brushes to choose from, and they will give you lots of different results. And before you can go ahead and create high quality art, you need to master a set of brushes. I really RECOMMEND that you do the following: Go to this site, scroll down to "Corel Painter-related goodies" and : find ROBS BRUSHES hereYou will seriously thank me if you havent downloaded these brushes before, they are in my opinion EXCELLENT ;)

I recently found another site that offer you some sets of brushes, that I havent tried out yet. I will download them instantly and try them out, you should do the same buddy ;). Then go here, drag your mouse over the smal menu-bar , and then the picture that comes up, and press download ;) I will go and do the same now, damn im excited, new brushes to investigate ;)

Corel Painter .... So whats all the fuzz about?

If you are completely new, and dont know a thing about Corel Painter. This post is for you.
Ok, so you know that almost every 2D digital artist you know uses Adobe Photoshop, but whats the deal with Painter, you may ask. And why am I so hung up on this program!? Here comes the answer =)

Some people prefer Painter because it handles very similar to real life art tools. Its so realistic that it gives a nice feel, that every artist new or skilled will enjoy. Photoshop has to me always been a more Photography/graphic design-centric software, and although they've added more advanced characteristics for the drawing/painting people, it is very digital and does not function like real life art tools. It's safe to say a personal preference thing. I prefer Painter for drawing & painting because the way the brushes react is far more dynamic than Photoshop's brushes.Painter has like I said a great resemblence to natural media tools: Pastels looks like a real pastel, watercolor looks like watercolor etc.

However, if it is graphic design and photography that you are after, I would recommend Photoshop because in that department Photoshop beats Painter by a long shot. Editing Photo`s while making lots of selections, cropping them and so on.. is a bit easier with Photoshop. But hey! Isnt it much cooler and more satisfiyng to create a masterpiece with some awesome brushes, that you wont find in other programs (as far as I know). That covers this Corel Painter training for today. It is real late, and Im going to bed now ;)

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://corel-painter.blogspot.com/2006/08/corel-painter-so-whats-all-fuzz-about.html' title='Corel Painter .... A common misunderstanding that many have. And that is: What is the difference between the program called Procreate Painter and Corel Painter? The answer is : NONE. Procreate IS Painter, the thing is that Painter was temporarily rebranded Procreate Painter during its transition into the Corel Suite of applications. But that time is over now, and the program is just know for Corel Painter, or just Painter among the advanced users. In addition it can be mentioned here, that in 2005 Corel released "scaled-down version of Painter developed for home users" called Painter Essentials 3.

FREE online Tutorials for your learning pleasure

Ok, in the previous post I gave you suggestions on how to train with Corel Painter the professional way (and very expensive way). Then you wont miss a thing, it is professionals that go thru every aspect of the program, and train you up to master all the somewhat difficult techniques. Ok enough about Photoshop already. And I always feel when entering into a new program, that it is important with good looking interface. Or else it might get rather confusing and difficult to use. This picture is taken from the Corel Painter IX version.

Hello World and Welcome to this blog dedicated to one of the best digital software programs out on the market: corel Painter

This blog will give you all the information you need to know about Corel Painter.
Either you are completely new to the program or not, this site should certainly be useful. In addition to useful tips, painter news. I will also give you links, pictures, downloadable content, and lots lots more in the future, so stay tuned !! ;)

The idea of creating this site, started ofcourse with a great interest for the program. Corel Painter and the newest version Corel Painter IX.5, is in my mind greatly underestimated. Its big brother Photoshop made by adobe, has for a long time dominated the market. And it is sadly still much much more popular than Painter. Therefore you should certainly pay attention, and see for your self
how great
this digital software really is.
